Hugh Buchannan Ward is our pastor.

He was born in Mississippi and received his BA in Biology from Asbury College. He worked in rural churches in Kentucky and Mississippi for a time and joined the US Marines in 1966. After Boot Camp at Parris Island, Vietnamese Language School and Intelligence School, he served in the Republic of Vietnam from 1968 until 1972. He attended Columbia Theological Seminary from 1972 until 1975 and did his graduate work at Emory University from 1975 until 1979. During those years he served at Fairview Presbyterian Church in Lawrenceville, Georgia. From 1979 until 1988 he was pastor at Columbia Presbyterian Church in Decatur, Georgia and came to First Presbyterian Church, Moultrie as our pastor in 1989. He also teaches the Genesis Sunday School Class.

"Hugh-B" is known and loved by almost everyone in Moultrie, not just the members of our church. He ministers to anyone in need. And he has taught us by his example to do the same.)

Connie Fritz is our Director of Christian Education.

Connie has served as the Director of Christian Education since May 1999. In this capacity with the help of the Strengthening of the Church Committee and Education Committee she organizes Sunday School for all ages, oversees programming for WATCH (Wednesday at the Church), Youth Fellowship and the Cornerstones. In addition she organizes quarterly childrens activities such as bowling trips and swimming parties, as well as church wide events including the Couples Retreat, Advent Festival, Rally Day, Super Sunday and Vacation Bible School.

Connie and her husband Steve have four children, Melissa, Brooke, Doug and Josh and two beautiful granddaughters Mimi and Maegan. In her spare time Connie likes to quilt and sew costumes and clothes for her granddaughters and for local theater performances.

Connie considers working with Moultrie First Prebsyterian as one of the greatest blessings in her life and thanks God daily for placing her here among such wonderful people. She encourages you to come be one of them!!

Kathy Wright is our Music Director/Organist

Kathy is choral director at Colquitt County High School and the music director/organist at the First Presbyterian Church. She has been teaching in Moultrie since 1983. She graduated from Niceville High School in Niceville, FL. She received her bachelor's of music education and master's of music education from The Florida State University. She is a member of the Georgia Music Educator's Association, the Music Educator's National Conference, the American Choral Director's Association, the Professional Association of Georgia Educators and the Presbyterian Association of Musicians.

Faye Brock is our Church Hostess.

Faye has lived in Moultrie most of her life. She graduated from Moultrie High School and received a Masters of Education from Valdosta State College. She taught school in the Colquitt County School system for 30 years. After retiring she taught half days at Cox Elementary School for 7 years.

Faye is married to Brady Brock, retired school administrator. They have two sons, Matthew and Jason. Matthew, his wife, Tammy, and their children Jesse and Ansley live in Watkinsville, Georgia. Jason, his wife, Melissa, and their children Allison, Laura Kate, and Benjamin live in Tifton, Georgia.

Faye knows that God allowed her to get the job at First Presbyterian Church because she feels that she has found a place where she can use God's gifts to her. She says that this is not ajob, but a pleasure, because of the love and warmth from the staff and the congregation. Her responsibilities here are to plan the WATCH menus, oversee the preparation of the meals, and supervise the kitchen staff, nursery staff, and the housekeeping staff.

Pat Priest is our Church Office Manager. Pat has lived in Colquitt County all her life. She and her husband, Dan, have three daughters, Leah, Dana, and Paula; and seven grandchildren, Bryan, Caleb, Brittney, Heather, Ansley, Railey, and Isaac.

Prior to working at the church she worked for Covenant Counseling Center and Riverside Mfg. Co. She says of herself, "I really enjoy people, so I certainly enjoy working for the people of First Presbyterian and hope they will call on me anytime I can be of help to them."

Pat Rentz is our Church Secretary. Pat Rentz and her family settled in Colquitt County after living in South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Texas and New Mexico. Pat came to us after her recent retirement from the American Red Cross as a Georgia Field Office Representative.

Pat enjoys her family and travels to Alaska and Oregon to visit her two sons and grand- children as often as possible. She has been an adult ladies' Sunday School teacher for 16 years. She continues to teach disaster preparedness classes and is involved in community activities.

"It is a joy to be a part of such a caring church," says Pat. "I wish everyone could experience the love and fellowship that is exuded here by everyone, every day."

Versteen (Bonnie) Newsome is our Sexton.

Actually, Bonnie has many jobs at our church. She is the sexton, nursery worker, cook in the kitchen, and is a helper and friend to all our members. All the children know and love Bonnie. She is the mother of two sons, Ronald Durham and Willie C. Hanes, and the grandmother of two granddaughters, Bonesia and Ashley Hanes. Recently she was recognized by the Red Cross with a certificate of appreciation as a Red Cross Hero. She is a very active member of the Union Missionary Baptist Church and is active in Girl Scout work. Bonnie has worked at the Presbyterian Church for 30 years!
